VIDA SECA

- Band - Vida Seca (Dry Life) is a musical band started in 2003 originally formed by four percussionists (Thiago, Danilo, Igor and Ricardo) coming from a percussion ensemble (“ Trash Block ”) with twenty-five people using trash elements as their musical instruments. After the split of “ Trash Block ” they kept the idea, they had in mind since the beginning, and formed Vida Seca. Offering a reinterpretation of Brazilian rhythms, African and Latin American, with influence of pop and experimental music, the quartet composes music, manufactures instruments and leads workshops in the Lixo Ritmado, Rowdy Recicla-do project (" Waste rhythmic Rowdy Recycle ") managed since 2006. Through this work the group intends to draw attention to the social reality and the environment, using an artistic and pedagogical discourse that challenges and proposes actions. Vida Seca realizes a musical research looking for new sounds that can be exploited from trash stuff and other alternative materials. Vida Seca creates a new musical world, where the traditional rhythms of brazilian music rise up again with a new energy and exciting new destination.
